Christopher Ward C60 Elite 1000 Black
Christopher Ward doesn’t use the Elite name lightly. It first appeared in 2009 on the C600 Tri-Tech Diver Elite, which was the C60’s 500m (C60s were 300m), more technically advanced big brother. Next in 2012 came the C11 Titanium Elite. Those 500 watches have gone on to become the most desirable C11 model. After a five year break, then Elite name was revived for the 2019 C60 Trident Elite 1000 Limited Edition - a 300 piece run of Titanium C60s which sold out in a matter of months.
Then in 2020 came the watch for sale here: the C60 Elite 1000, which took the 2019 Titanium LE and ramped things up by adding a day to the calendar complication and an exhibition case back!
This is a current model which is available from CW for £995 on a rubber strap here. The Titanium bracelet models costs £1,225.
The watch for sale here is the original prototype and sports the serial number XXX-F00.
Condition
When you first open up the box you could be forgiven for assuming it’s a brand new watch. It’s in great shape and has clearly had very little wrist time. It’s only when you get in very close you can see a few very light blemishes from use.
It’s keeping great time at approx. -2sec per day (nicely inside the -4 to +6 COSC window).
It comes boxed with covering letter and unused polishing cloth, but is unfortunately missing its user book, COSC certificate and warranty card. Being a 2020 model, there’s a chance CW would honour their four-year movement warranty in the unlikely event of a problem, but there’s no guarantee, so please assume a 90-day movement warranty from me.
