Christopher Ward C9 5 Day Small-Second Chronometer
While CW dress watches have taken a back seat to the divers in recent years, back in the CW early days they made up a huge part of CW’s early ranges with the C5, C1, C2/20 and the ‘top of the range’ C9 all arriving in CW’s first five years of business. The first C9s arrived in 2010 and were all based on a 43mm case, but it wasn’t until 2015 that we first saw the arrival of the 40mm version which was available as a C9 Jumping Hour Mk2 and the C9 5-Day Small-Second watch you see here. Neither of those 40mm models were limited editions, but they’ve become very collectable over time, with very few appearing on the resale market.
The C9 Small Second was available between 2015 and 2017, but this particular watch appeared for a matter of seconds in Jan 2019 when it was snapped up by its lucky original owner. The transferable CW movement warranty is valid until Jan 2024.
Condition
Offered in extremely good used condition. There are some minor blemishes here and there, in keeping with a lightly used watch. The ‘worst’ mark is a small ding on the bezel at about 8 minutes - only visible in certain lights.
The CW Shell Cordovan leather strap on Bader clasp is in very good used condition with plenty of life left in it - a superficial scratch is clearly visible in the relevant photo.
It’s keeping perfect time at +/-0sec per day.
Supplied in a CW Deluxe wooden case with Certificate of Authenticity, COSC certificate, polishing cloth and covering letters, one of which explains it's an archive watch so no user books were available and directing you to the PDF version on their website.
