Christopher Ward C7 Rosso Corsa COSC Limited Edition

With the exception of a few military specials, the Christopher Ward C7 (and C70) range has always been home to their sport/motorsport inspired watches. The C7 Rapide first arrived in 2008 as a quartz chronograph and that battery chrono theme continued with the launch of the Mk2 in 2012, which was essentially a Mk1 case with some new face designs.

It wasn’t until 2017, when the C7 Rapide range got a complete overhaul, that an automatic movement became available in a C7 for the first time. The standout feature of the automatic watch has to be the multi-part case construction with its contrasting case/ring colours and its hollowed out lugs. Both those made it a pretty expensive watch to manufacture and pretty unique to look at.

The COSC-certified C7 Rosso Corsa with day/date complication for sale here was introduced in mid 2018 as a limited run of 200 pieces. They’d all sold out by Jan 2021, so this is one of the last ones CW sold. The watch for sale in this listing is a January 2021, so the movement warranty is valid until Jan 2026.

When it was available from CW it cost £1,000, so available here at a handsome discount.

Condition

This is a used watch which is in great condition apart from a scratch on the top of the bezel between 56-60 minutes. The harsh LED lighting in my photography cube make the mark appear far worse in the photos than it looks in the flesh.

Supplied as a full set in bamboo case with polishing cloth, warranty car, COSC certificate and covering letter directing you to the website for a PDF of the owner’s book.

On the timegrapher it’s keeping perfect time: +/-0 seconds per day!
