Christopher Ward Mk3 C60 Trident Elite 1000 LE
Christopher Ward doesn’t use the Elite name lightly. It first appeared in 2009 on the C600 Tri-Tech Diver Elite, which was the C60’s 500m (C60s were 300m), more technically advanced big brother. Next in 2012 came the C11 Titanium Elite. Those 500 watches have gone on to become the most desirable C11 model. After a five year break, the Elite name was revived for the watch you see here: 2019’s Mk3 C60 Trident Elite 1000 Limited Edition - a 300 piece run of Titanium C60s which sold out in a matter of months.
This model was launched in mid 2019 as part of the original Mk3 C60 launch range. The standard 600m steel C60 cost £695 at the time with this 1000m, Limited Edition, Titanium-cased, Helium valved, COSC Chronometer model costing £1,250 on a rubber strap (there was no Titanium bracelet option).
Despite the significant premium over the regular 600 it sold out in December 2019. This is a December ‘19 piece, so it’s one of the youngest ones and the transferable CW movement warranty is valid until December 2024.
Non-limited Elite 1000s
Buoyed by the success of the Trident Elite 1000 for sale here, CW went to town on a new range of Titanium C60s which hit the shelves in 2020. This new range were not limited and included black and GMT models. It’s easy to spot one of these later Elites because 1) They have a day complication and 2) they have an exhibition case back - the combination of those add-ons gives these watches a 15.4mm tall case (as opposed to the 14.6mm tall case on the original Elite LE that I’m selling). Despite these ‘extras’, the selling price was the same: £1,250. Along with this new range of Elites, CW introduced a bracelet option which was a £250 upgrade over the rubber. The Titanium bracelet which is available here will fit the Elite LE if you wanted.
So if you want all the whistles and bells and don’t mind the taller case, pass on this LE one and look out for the later version. But if you prefer the lower profile and the ‘only 300 made pub bragging rights’, this is the one for you!
Condition
The watch head is in like new condition - I can’t see any marks on it at all. It has been worn though, so you may find signs of use under magnified inspection.
The original Hybrid rubber strap is in almost new condition.
It’s keeping perfect time at +/-0sec per day.
Offered as a full set box and papers including user book, COSC certificate, warranty card and unused polishing cloth.
