Christopher Ward C1 Grand Malvern Power Reserve

Introduction

The watch for sale here is a pretty significant piece. Launched toward the end of 2016, it paved the way for pretty much all of the watches Christopher Ward sells today. It was the first C1 model - the C1 being CW’s top-end dress range. But more significantly, it was also the first watch to have CW’s then new, now range-wide ‘light-catcher’ case design - a far more sculpted, curvaceous and lower profile case compared to the more slab-sided cases which came before it.

It's got a beautiful opaline dial with blued hands and the exhibition casebook shows of the SH21 movement in its full glory.

The CW selling price when this watch was available was £1,695 on a leather strap or £1,745 on a bracelet.

Strap

Currently fitted with a dark blue CW Shell Cordovan leather with Bader deployant clasp in good, used condition. These straps are superb quality, the cordovan leather is amazing.

Head only discount of £70.

If you'd rather exchange for a brand new vintage oak leather, discount of £40.

If you'd rather exchange for a brand new dark blue CW Shell Cordovan leather + £80

If you'd rather exchange for a CW mesh bracelet, + £80.

Condition

The case is in very good used condition.

[On inspection, the crown is sticky and it is also running at around -13 seconds per day. That's not good enough, so it is going back to CW Towers for some TLC. Expected return date is November]

Supplied with original bamboo wooden box and booklet with warranty card and COSC certificate. It comes with the polishing cloth case, but not the polishing cloth and the owner's manual is missing (although this is available online, see below).

If you’re looking for an iconic and significant CW dress watch, this is the one for you.
