CHRISTOPHER WARD C7 Hornet COSC Limited Edition (2020)

With the exception of a few military specials, the Christopher Ward C7 (and C70) range has always been home to their sport/motorsport inspired watches. The C7 Rapide first arrived in 2008 as a quartz chronograph and that battery chrono theme continued with the launch of the Mk2 in 2012, which was essentially a Mk1 case with some new face designs.

It wasn’t until 2017, when the C7 Rapide range got a complete overhaul, that an automatic movement became available in a C7 for the first time. The standout feature of the automatic watch has to be the multi-part case construction with its contrasting case/ring colours and its hollowed out lugs. Both those made it a pretty expensive watch to manufacture and pretty unique to look at.

The C7 Hornet was introduced in mid 2018 as a limited run of 150 pieces. They’d all sold out by Jan 2021. The watch for sale in this listing is a June 2020, so the movement warranty is valid until June 2025. When it was available it cost £900.

Condition

It’s seen regular use during its six months, so has picked up a few light dings around the edge of the bezel, the largest of which can be seen at 46 minutes. The rest of the case and sapphire appear unmarked, but you may find additional signs of use upon very close inspection. The leather strap also shows signs of regular wear, but still has plenty of life left in it.

Supplied in the original bamboo case with owner’s book, warranty card and unused polishing cloth. The COSC certificate has unfortunately been misplaced.
