CHRISTOPHER WARD C7 Hornet COSC Limited Edition (06/2018)

Introduction

With the exception of a few military specials, the Christopher Ward C7 (and C70) range has always been home to their sport/motorsport inspired watches. The C7 Rapide first arrived in 2008 as a quartz chronograph and that battery chrono theme continued with the launch of the Mk2 in 2012, which was essentially a Mk1 case with some new face designs.

It wasn’t until 2017, when the C7 Rapide range got a complete overhaul, that an automatic movement became available in a C7 for the first time. The standout feature of the automatic watch has to be the multi-part case construction with its contrasting case/ring colours and its hollowed out lugs. Both those made it a pretty expensive watch to manufacture and pretty unique to look at. I also love the applied indices and textured dials of the C7s - such a shame it is a discontinued range.

The COSC-certified C7 Hornet was introduced in mid 2018 as a limited run of 150 pieces. They’d all sold out by Jan 2021. This one is serial number 002, making it just that extra bit special!

Warranty

As a June 2018 watch, the warranty has now expired, so it comes with a three month Ward Hoard warranty.

Condition

Simply exceptional - only worn a few times, it is in superb, unmarked condition.

Comes with its original strap which is also in very good condition.

Supplied as a full set in the original deluxe wooden case (reserved only for use by limited edition watches during that period), the original outer case (which has the ribbon cut for some reason), plus owner’s book with Certificate of Authenticity, polishing cloth and COSC certificate.

As mentioned above, this is a COSC certified model, so you’d expect the time-keeping to be around -4 to +6 seconds per day. On the timegrapher this one is running at approx. -2spd so bang within that range.
