CHRISTOPHER WARD C1 GRAND MALVERN MOONPHASE BLUE

The C1 Grand Malvern Moonphase was introduced in 2017 as the sleeker and more stylish replacement for the more slab-sided C9 Moonphase.

It features an ETA 2836 automatic movement which has been modified by Johannes Jahnke, Christopher Ward’s former master watchmaker, who now works as director of development at movement manufacturer, Sellita. JJ Created his ‘JJ04’ module which adds the moonphase complication. You can read more about them here and here on the CW website.

It was retired in 2020, but when it was available the cost was £1,400.

The watch for sale here is the ‘midnight blue’ model, which can look black in some lights (including the LEDs I used for photographing my watches), but it’s more blue when the sun hits it.

This is a November 2019 watch, so the transferable movement warranty is valid until November 2024.

Strap:

Currently fitted with a lightly used CW blue Shell Cordovan leather on Bader deployant.

I can switch it to a new CW Mesh bracelet for an extra £100.

Condition:
I can’t see a single blemish on the watch head, but being a used watch, you may find tiny signs of use under magnified inspection.

The original CW blue Shell Cordovan strap on a Bader deployant clasp has clearly seen very little use and is still in fantastic condition - new ones are available from CW at a cost of £125.

On the timegrapher it’s registered a very respectable (and COSC spec) +6sec per day - note it’s not actually a COSC Certified model.

Offered as an almost full set in the original CW bamboo case including warranty card, unused polishing cloth and a copy of the standard CW covering letter. The only thing missing is the user book which is available as a PDF via the link below.
