BELL & ROSS BR01-94 CHRONOGRAPH CARBON

Here we have a classic aviation-inspired Bell & Ross BR0194 watch. It’s owned by a pal of mine, it’s priced very realistically and I said I’d give him a hand selling it. The Carbon mention it the model title refers to the carbon-black coating colour and does not mean it has any carbon components. At around 200g with the strap, it’s very much a reassuringly heavy steel watch.

It’s a 2014 piece which he bought in 2016. The ETA 2894-2 automatic movement is working exactly as it should and keeping decent time at -10sec per day. If you want better accuracy, any decent watch specialist should be familiar with the ETA movement and regulating it would be a bread and butter job for them… personally I’d leave it sealed up - if it ain’t broke and all that!

It’s a full set, box and papers watch including all the original tools and two additional straps. The nylon one is unused, the leather one has had very little used and the rubber one currently fitted is in great condition.

If you’ve looked at some of the other BR0194s in black on the likes of Chrono24 etc. you’ll know that for a large watch like this with so many sharp angles, it’s very common to pick up dings and for the edges of the black coating to start wearing through on well-used examples. This watch does show signs of use, but I’d say it’s in far better condition than other similar priced examples

This watch has picked up a few dings (clearly identified in the relevant photo) and if I was being really fussy I’d say there are very feint signs of silver showing through on a couple of the sharp edges, but it’s surprisingly difficult to differentiate between those and reflections!

In summary I’d say it’s a very nice condition used watch offered at far less than any other example of a similar condition.
