SOLD WH93 C7 Rapide Day-Date COSC Limited Edition (07/2020)
C7 Rapide Day-Date COSC Limited Edition, 24/100
Introduction
With the exception of a few military specials, the Christopher Ward C7 (and C70) range has always been home to their sport/motorsport inspired watches. The C7 Rapide first arrived in 2008 as a quartz chronograph and that battery chrono theme continued with the launch of the Mk2 in 2012, which was essentially a Mk1 case with some new face designs.
It wasn’t until 2017, when the C7 Rapide range got a complete overhaul, that an automatic movement became available in a C7 for the first time. The standout feature of the automatic watch has to be the multi-part case construction with its contrasting case/ring colours and its hollowed out lugs. Both those made it a pretty expensive watch to manufacture and pretty unique to look at.
The COSC-certified C7 Rapide Day-Date COSC LE with day/date complication for sale here was introduced in August 2017 as a limited edition chronometer of 100 pieces and sold out by January 2018. This one is an archive find, released in July 2020 after it had long sold out, so one of the very latest available.
Warranty
As a July 2020 watch, the CW movement warranty is valid until July 2025.
Strap options
Fitted with the original CW motorsport red leather strap in perfect condition.
If you want head only, discount of £60 or exchange for another CW brand new leather, hybrid or tide strap at no cost change.
Condition
Offered in superb condition - looks like it has hardly been worn at all. No marks that I can see. Supplied as a full set in bamboo case with polishing cloth, warranty card and covering letter directing you to the website for a PDF of the owner’s book. No COSC certificate - presumably why it was held back from general sale and released later.
On the timegrapher it’s now running at 1spd having just been back to CW for a full service under warranty (its timing was out).
