Christopher Ward C63 Colchester 41mm
Introduction
The C60 Lympstone is named after the British Army’s Parachute Regiment and its iconic HQ at Colchester. With CW’s close relationship with the UK military and its long history of creating bespoke, military only limited runs, the Colchester is one of a handful of CW watches to make military editions available to the public.
The ‘public’ military models started with a batch of C65s in 2019. They were the Dartmouth (named after the Royal Naval School), the Cranwell (named after the RAF College) and the Sandhurst (named after the The Royal Military Academy where army officers are trained).
In August 2020 CW added a fourth military model, the Lympstone. And in 2021 the Colchester joined the party (developed for and in conjunction with the British Army's Parachute Regiment).
The Colchester is an unashamedly rugged interpretation of CW’s best selling C63 Elite. It features an injected-carbon case that’s CW’s lightest ever with an ingenious pop-out crown for maximum comfort that was introduced with the Elite - not to mention the COSC certified automatic SW200 movement. The watch head weighs just 38 grammes!
The cut outs on the dial are a particularly cool feature - you can see straight through it (incidentally, similar to looking through lizards’ and owls’ ears, I learned this morning).
Condition
The watch head is in great condition with no obvious marks, scratches or dings.
It’s offered as a ‘full set’, including original bamboo box, owner’s book, warranty card/wallet, COSC certificate and polishing cloth.
It is keeping almost perfect time, showing -1 spd on the timegrapher.
Warranty
It comes with the Christopher Ward transferable manufacturer’s warranty until November 2027.
Strap options
It’s currently on a lightly used tide strap. Other options:
Exchange for brand new CW leather or hybrid strap (no cost change) - please note that the carbon buckle can’t be transferred as the tide straps do not taper so it would come on a stainless steel or DLC (if I can find one) buckle.
Head only (discount of £30)
