Monta Triumph 38.5 mm

Introduction

Whilst it’s mostly about CW, it’s not all about CW. There are some fantastic other brands out there that I’ve had as part of my own collection that operate a similar space to CW. I’m not talking your Rolex, Omega or Tudor, more your Halios, Pinion, Elliot Brown, anOrdian or Zero West.

This is one such smaller brand. I’ve had a Monta Ocean King and this one and they both just ooze quality. The finishing is absolutely superb.

Monta also claim that it is the most comfortable bracelet in the world. Whether or not Monta’s claim is true (and I find it hard to beat CW’s bracelets), it is supremely comfortable. That’s not just the bracelet, at 38.5mm, height of less than 10mm and a lug to lug of 47mm, it is a very well proportioned watch and very comfortable to wear.

This is a March 2019 model. The Monta automatic movement is working exactly as it should and keeping decent time at -10 seconds per day.

It’s a full set, box and papers watch including all the original tools and two additional straps, rubber and NATO that look unworn. The bracelet currently fitted is in great condition and comes with all spare links.

The watch itself is also in lovely condition with no noteworthy marks or scratches.

These are only available direct from the US and currently retail at USD 1,700. To which you have to add shipping at USD 50, duty, VAT at 20% and the shipper’s handling charge, meaning a cost of around £1,750 landed in the UK.

It originally came with a 2 year Monta warranty which has now expired, so it comes with a three month Ward Hoard warranty.
