SOLD - The Last C1 Grand Malvern Power Reserve (2022)
Christopher Ward C1 Grand Malvern Power Reserve
The watch for sale here is a pretty significant piece. Launched toward the end of 2016, it paved the way for pretty much all of the watches Christopher Ward sells today. It was the first C1 model - the C1 being CW’s top-end dress range. But more significantly, it was also the first watch to have CW’s then new, now range-wide ‘light-catcher’ case design - a far more sculpted, curvaceous and lower profile case compared to the more slab-sided cases which came before it.
To the best of my knowledge, the C1 Grand Malvern Power Reserve, or C1 PR for short, for sale here is the last one ever sold by CW - being bought by its original owner in Feb ‘22 - several years after this model was officially retired, so it’s a classic Christopher Ward archive find. The transferable movement warranty is value to Feb 2027.
The CW selling price when this watch was available was £1,695 on a leather strap or £1,745 on a bracelet.
Strap
Currently fitted with an original CW mesh bracelet. If you’d rather a leather strap, I can switch it to a blue CW Shell Cordovan leather with Bader deployant clasp - as shown in the last photo. That leather strap is a lower cost option, it is not included with the bracelet.
Condition
Offered in brand new, unworn condition - not only the last one sold by CW, but also likely to be the last one still in new condition.
On the timegrapher it’s keeping near perfect time at approx. +1sec per day.
Supplied with original box and papers including warranty card, polishing cloth, COSC certificate and covering letter explaining it was sold as an historic model, so the owner books were out of print and instead directing you to the PDF mentioned below.
If you’re looking for an iconic and significant CW dress watch, this could be the one for you.
