CHRISTOPHER WARD C65 TRIDENT DIVER

Christopher Ward first used the C65 name in 2014 when they introduced a 43mm dress style variation of the Mk2 C60 dive watch called the C65 Trident Classic. Next came a C65 Trident Classic Vintage, which used a variation of the 38mm Mk2 C60 case in 2016.

CW first dipped their toe into the ‘retro dive’ water in May 2018 with this hand-wound C65 Trident Diver - available with either blue, green or black face at a cost of £700 on rubber/leather or £760 on bracelet. Unlike the previous two C65s, which were variations of C60s, the C65 Trident Diver was an all-new design and it proved to be an instant hit, paving the way for all manor of new models and special editions and arguably challenging the C60 for the most popular model crown.

The C65 Trident Diver uses a 41mm case which sits perfectly on pretty much any size wrist. Its slim and sculpted case and bezel sit well below the super-strong and scratch resistant sapphire crystal, making it appear even slimmer than its stated 11.5mm height.

The blue model was by far the most popular colour, with far less black ones sold and even fewer green ones.

The watch for sale here is serial number 200 and was sold in May 2018, making it one of the first to leave CW.

Condition:
Offered in superb used condition.

When I first opened the box for this watch I thought it was as new. Only when I got in very close could I see very minor blemishes from light wear and the occasional scrap change.

It’s fitted with the correct original CW black rubber strap (still in great condition) with its quick-release spring bars.

On the Timegrapher it’s keeping fantastic time at approx. +3sec per day - well inside the +/-15sec specified by CW and even inside COSC limits, despite not being a COSC certified model.

It comes as a ‘full set’ complete with original box, owner’s book with Certificate of Authenticity, original covering letter and unused polishing cloth.
