Christopher Ward C60 Mk3 Bronze Prototype one-of-one

The first bronze Trident arrived in 2017 and was part of the Mk2.5 C60 range - available in both 38mm and 43mm sizes.

2020 marked the arrival of the Mk3 C60 bronze model. Unlike the earlier model, the Mk2 was only available in a 40mm size.

The watch for sale in this listing was sold in Jan 2021. At the time, it was the only known 42mm Mk3 bronze trident, then in March 2021, CW released the original Mk3 Ombré Limited Edition which had a black bezel insert and black/bronze distressed face - all 500 pieces quickly sold out.

Then in Jan 2022, CW released the green Mk3 Ombré Limited Edition. This was also 42mm, but had a bronze bezel and a distressed green face - again, all 500 pieces were soon sold.

So what’s for sale in this listing? It’s a Mk3 42mm bronze C60. It is the only Mk3 to have a non-distressed face - in this case, a flat blue. And it’s the only known bronze C60 on the planet to have a ceramic blue bezel insert. So while you might find 1,000 other people with 42mm bronze Tridents, you’ll be the only person with this blue one - currently me and potentially, you!

Condition

It’s rarely been worn, so is in almost new condition.

Being almost two years old, it’s developed a pretty standard flat patina. If you want to give it some zing, there are plenty of guides on the web showing how to create different effects or reset the finish back to a bright raw bronze.

Offered as a full set or boxes and papers. CW included an owner’s book for the 40mm Mk2 bronze, whgich was the only bronze Mk3 available at the time of sale. However the 42mm Mk3 Ombre book would be more accurate on the tech specs. A link toi the PDF can be found below.

The transferable CW movement warranty is valid to Jan 2026.

On the Timegrapher it’s registering +15sec per day - comfortably inside the +/-20sec specified by CW.
