Christopher Ward W6 Kingfisher Splash Pink

Anyone who’s relatively new to Christopher Ward probably don’t know that between 2007 and 2015 they created 21 different ladies models with many different colour variations.

The watch for sale here is part of the W6 Kingfisher range and dates from Jan 2011.

As you’d expect from a watch with such a similar name to the men’s C6 Kingfisher, it has plenty in common including the 43mm case (or 42mm according to the user book!). Whereas the C6 had a matte, shot-blasted case, the W6 is mirror polished. The W6 Kingfisher Splash range consisted of some seven different colours: red, blue, orange, purple, white, green and of course the pink, which is the one for sale here. They all featured eye-catching mother of pearl dials with applied, polished hands and markers.

It was launched in mid 2009 and was retired in mid 2011, so this is one of the later ones. Over the last few years I’ve seen five change hands (that’s in total, not five pink ones) so they’re pretty rare things.

Condition

It’s a good used watch. It’s running perfectly and keeping great time (last out of the box a few months ago and the time was still bang-on today). There are a few marks on the bezel, clearly visible in the photos, and some light blemishes to the polished surfaces from use. The bezel and strap also have some colour fading.

Offered with full ‘box and papers’. The box is starting to show its age with some deterioration of the soft surfaces.

In summary, it’s no minter, but it’s a very rare and very wearable CW watch, priced very fairly.
