CHRISTOPHER WARD W1 SSS
Introduction
Christopher Ward entered the ladies’ watch market in 2005 and created 21 different models over the years, before announcing in 2014 they intended to exit the women’s field. by 2015 all remaining stock was sold off so they could concentrate on the much better selling models intended for men. That’s not to say that women can’t wear Chris Ward watches now though - particularly with the introduction of smaller models recently. Because the ladies watches never really sold in great numbers when they were new, they’re now even harder to come by - I’d say maybe one or two a month come up in the various outlets that I monitor.
The watch for sale in this listing is a Tonneau Suisse quartz ladies' dress watch and was the first watch in the Christopher Ward Women's collection.
Warranty
It comes with a Ward Hoard three month warranty.
Condition
Having a highly polished case and bezel makes many CW women’s watches magnets for blemishes, so it’s common to see ladies watches in battered condition. This particular watch is in fabulous condition - you can’t see a mark on it. I expect that it has spent virtually its entire life in its box with possibly just the occasional wear.
The original CW bracelet is also in virtually unworn condition and comes with its spare links.
Supplied with its original box - fun fact, these did not come with a user manual, but it comes with its unused polishing cloth and covering letter. The covering letter used to serve as the certificate of authenticity with the serial number, model and CW stamp!
A real collector's item - this is the first W1 that I've come across and I will be amazed if I see one in this condition again.
