CHRISTOPHER WARD N22 ALEX SPORT CHRONOGRAPH
Christopher Ward entered the ladies’ watch market in 2007 and created 21 different models over the years, before announcing in 2014 they intended to exit the women’s field. by 2015 all remaining stock was sold off so they could concentrate on the much better selling models intended for men. That’s not to say that women can’t wear Chris Ward watches now though - my misses loves her 38mm bronze C60! Because the ladies watches never really sold in great numbers when they were new, they’re now even harder to come by - I’d say maybe one or two a month come up in the various outlets that I monitor.
The watch for sale in this listing is the 38mm N22 Alex Sport - so one of the larger ones they created. Originally launched in 2011 before being retired in 2014 - which is when this watch was sold. They were available on light brown or white leather straps at a cost of £200, or the stainless steel bracelet model seen here was £300.
It’s powered by the reliable Ronda 5020.B quartz chronograph, as used my many Swiss watch manufacturers and almost identical to the ones used in the current C3 Chrono models.
Condition
It’s just been back to CW for a new battery, so should be good for another 3-4 years depending on how much the chrono is used.
It’s suitable for wrists up to approx. 19cm, or up to three links can be removed to take it down to approx. 16cm.
Supplied in its original inner and outer boxes including user book and Certificate of Authenticity showing it to be a June 2014 watch.
It’s a seven year old watch which has seen regular wrist time, so there are various light marks, none really worthy of specific mention though. Most of my photos make it look battered - that’s not the case at all, that’s mostly down to reflections and my poor photography! That said, the alloy bezel insert hasn’t stood up to wear like the stainless steel case and bracelet, so that’s showing light marks all the way around. When my photo is blown up to the size of a wall clock they don’t look great, but in the flesh it looks far more presentable.
The watch is in perfect working order, as is the high quality stainless steel bracelet and clasp.
