Christopher Ward C65 Trident Diver SH21 Limited Edition

I’m not gonna lie, I don’t really want you to buy this watch! There are 149 more of these in existence, so it’s well worth trying to find one of those instead!

This SH21-powered C65 with its small second and power reserve sub dials is probably my favourite Christopher Ward: the 41mm size is perfect on almost any wrist (especially mine!), it looks just as good with a suit as it does with jeans and a t-shirt and the COSC-certified, 120 hour power reserve calibre means it can rest for days, yet the time is still right when you pick it up - I can’t say any of my other Wards can tick those boxes.

It was launched in September 2019 at £1,800 on a leather or canvas strap or £1,900 on a bracelet and it sold out within a few months. If ever there was a CW destined to be a future classic, this one is it. Those retail prices certainly made it one of the most expensive CW watches you could buy at the time, but when you see it in the metal and get it on your wrist, it’s easy to see it’s a top end watch limited edition watch which is worth spending strong money on.

Condition
The watch is in fantastic condition. It’s just over two years old, with the transferable warranty valid until September 2023, or September 2024 if serviced by CW during its third year. It has only seen sparing wrist time, in rotation with other watches, so it’s still in close to new condition. I can’t see a single mark on the head, bezel or sapphire, although being a used watch, you may find signs of use under magnified inspection. The only blemishes I can see on the bracelet are some light marks on the sides of some links caused by some amateur link removal and refitting.

On the timegrapher it’s keeping fantastic time at +3sec - well within the -4 to +6 specified by COSC.
