Christopher Ward C60 Trident 300 38mm

The Mk1 C60 Trident hit the watch world in 2009, but it was only available with an automatic movement. It wasn’t until 2015 and the arrival or the Mk2 Trident, that Christopher Ward introduced their first Quartz C60 model, which they named the Trident 300, after its 300m water depth rating. The C60 300 is visually very similar to the Mk1 C60 Trident Pro, with just a couple of visual clues: 1) It just says “Trident” on the face, not “Trident Pro” and 2) the second hand ticks instead of sweeps.

The watch for sale here is a 38mm, white face, black bezel model dating from Jan 2017. It wears the CHR. WARD logo, in common with later Mk1s and earlier Mk2s - during 2017 they switched to the ‘Christopher Ward’ logo, placed at 9 o’clock.

Being a quartz model, it doesn’t have the taller, tapered case back of its automatic cousin, so it sits a little lower on the wrist.

Like the Mk1 C60s, the Mk3 also doesn’t have a quartz model available, so if you’re looking for a good value, daily wearable Christopher Ward which doesn’t need setting after it’s sat for a few days, this Mk2 could make a great solution.

The 38mm quartz models sold in much lower numbers than the 43s and the white ones were a lot less popular than the blacks, so this 38mm white model is actually a pretty unusual piece.

Condition

It’s in good used condition. You can see some light scratches and the occasional minor ding from use when you get in for a close inspection, but certainly no major scuffs or damage. The bezel condition is great and the sapphire looks perfect. The harsh lighting of my LRD photography cube highlights every blemish - in the flesh it actually looks much better than it does in the photos.

It’s fitted with a new black Maratac composite rubber strap with white stitching. Also included is a used James Bond style NATO strap.

Supplied in its original box (which is a little beaten up) along with book and Certificate of Authenticity, but please note the internal watch roll is not original CW.
