Christopher Ward C60 Trident Pro 600 Mk3 42mm Gunmetal Prototype #000

Some of my watches have quite a back story and can have a lot of introduction and description - this isn’t really one of them! It’s essentially a Mk3 C60 with a one-off combination of the £740 black-faced Mk3 C60 Trident 600 (available here) and the gunmetal case and bezel grip from the £795 Abyss model (available here). The only other slight variation this watch has is the white twin-flags icon at 12 o’clock - the standard watches have a more subtle black version.

Being a one-off prototype, it sports the serial number 000. And being an official CW creation, it’s backed up by the usual four year (five years if serviced by CW between years 3 and 4) movement warranty. So the warranty is valid until January 2025 (or 2026 with that service).

If you’re not familiar with the Mk3 C60, it was introduced in mid 2019 as a the next progression of the best-selling Christopher Ward watch. The key updates from the previous model are the more sculpted sides to the case, giving it a more shallow appearance on the wrist and the move from a traditional to more contemporary hand design.

The finish on the gunmetal case is difficult to get across in photos: some sections have a matte, brushed finish, while others have a stunning mirror-polished - it’s a very nice thing to look at.

I bought it for £795 in January 2021 and was expecting to receive a watch with a red second hand and red triangle on the bezel, but a mixup with the despatch meant I received this alternative and someone else got mine!

Condition:
It’s a prototype watch, so will have been handled and tried on as part of CW’s selection process when they decide which watches will make it to production and which will remain one-offs, so I’m not selling is as a ‘brand new’ watch. But that said, it’s pristine and the strap appears brand new, so it’s about as close as you can get to a brand new watch without it being new!

It’s offered as a ‘full set’, including original inner and outer boxes, owner’s book, warranty card/wallet and unused polishing cloth.

On the timegrapher it’s running at +15sec per day. CW’s specification is +/-20sec, so it’s comfortably inside that.
