SOLD WH504 C60 Trident 300 HMS Prince of Wales (01/2020)
Christopher Ward C60 Trident 300 HMS Prince of Wales (01/2020)
Introduction
It was commissioned as a limited run and made available during 2018 and 2019 to the builders and crew of the Royal Navy’s new 280m long, 65,000 tonne aircraft carrier, HMS Prince of Wales. (The Price of Wales is the sister ship to the equally huge HMS Queen Elizabeth, some info on the ships here and here).
The watch is based on the 43mm Mk2 C60 Trident 300, but is made a bit more special thanks to its Navy blue colour, the ship’s crest and silhouette on the face, plus the crest and Latin motto Ich Dien (I Serve) engraved into the case back. While the watch was never officially available to the public, the last couple of pieces were offered on the CW website in January 2020 - needless to say, they sold in seconds!
About the Mk2 C60 Trident 300: it was the first C60 to be offered with a quartz movement, in this case the trusty Ronda 715. It’s waterproof to 300m and this particular watch is fitted with a lightly used CW stainless bracelet with the brilliant ratchet micro adjust mechanism. Currently sized to a c. 6.75 inch wrist, it comes with a couple of spare links.
Condition
It’s in good used condition, with a light mark on the bezel as shown in the photographs. The CW movement warranty is valid until Jan 2025.
Supplied with the CW bamboo case, warranty booklet and card and polishing cloth.
It doesn't come with an owner's manual, but this is available online here - : https://www.christopherward.com/on/demandware.static/-/Library-Sites-cw-library/default/dw9569c4f7/pdfs/Dive/c60-trident-300-v2.pdf
