RESERVED WH795 - C65 Chronograph "Wild Thing" (01/2024)
Christopher Ward C65 Chronograph
Introduction
The C65 Chrono was launched in October 2020. It’s powered by the famous ETA 7750 Valjoux movement - as found inside many premium watch brands such as Breitling, TAG Heuer, Panerai, Omega, IWC etc.
The C65 Chronograph’s bright colour scheme is reminiscent of yachting timers produced in the late1960s,.
Nicknamed "Wild Thing", the blue base of the dial is complemented by red, blue and orange detailing. The colours on the 30-minute counter subdial follow the design of vintage yachting – or ‘regatta’ watches. Extra timing options come in the shape of a unidirectional diver’s bezel and tachymeter around the circumference.
The movement used is the Sellita SW510 BHa ‘bicompax’ automatic movement with twin subdials and stopwatch functionality.
In the words of the Troggs (not entirely sure that’s what they had in mind, but I’ll run with it:)
“Wild thing, you make my heart sing
You make everything groovy, wild thing
Wild thing, I think I love you
But I wanna know for sure”.
It’s a decent size in the 41mm case - quite tall with the valjoux movement, but CW’s light catcher case hugs the
wrist beautifully. It’s great on my 6.75 inch wrist.
It was retired in December 2023, so this is one of the last to be made available.
